Get into God
THE QUIET PLACE:
This for me is the place of preparation.
Before musing over the song list, leafing through the thematic index for songs on ‘the burning bush’; before seeing where it all fits in the programme – whether you’ve got a 20 minute ‘slot’ or filling a so-called ‘hymn sandwich’ – look for God!
Let’s seek God!
GET INTO GOD!
Let’s seek to understand a little more about this Creator God who designed supa novas and fingerprints!
To laugh with the God who has stepped into our skin, to weep with the God who welcomes the poor and the left out, to join in the ‘dance of God’ who has in Jesus and by the Spirit has made a way of life for all to be family and so much more.
As we are those who are involved in music in worship – leading others, inviting others into that place – let’s never lose that sense of adventure the thirst of the quest.
Let’s keep exploring the complexity and mystery of God.
Let’s try our best to understand a little more of God’s heart to include and welcome everyone.
In the gritty place of life experiences let’s seek to be those who not only act – but those who also wait for God.
READING TIME!
This is also an invitation for us to read more too – the Bible word a narrative of the story of God.
I try to read too other authors too who write from differing perspectives about this great God!
We sing the songs about the greatness of God – why is God great?
CHURCH
Let’s also seek to develop an understanding of the church community.
We’re not called to be ‘lone wanderers’ in this – even though there will be experiences that take us to pioneering places, even to ‘on our own’ places…
…but I’m becoming increasingly convinced that the body of Christ in our communities is a potent tool in the hand of God for our accountability, our nurturing and encouragement and equally importantly for the extensive blessing and health of the community it is placed in.
INVITE
Are you up for it?
Come on – Let’s dive headfirst into the compassion that is God and into the passion of God’s heart.
Let’s be those genuine, seekers after God who in seeking God, find that we have in fact been sought and found!
