Night 5!
Its been a long time since a 05.30 start and tho we thought it was plenty of time it took a little bit of sweet talking by the girls with the guy on the gate to keep it open so we could all get on board! Smooth flight into blue sky Belfast!. Ahhhhhh the land of such lovely warm people.
Great venue and great tray bakes. Even sell a rather interesting revelation, cake 15. Nice but different!. Food featured highly in quantity and quality, thankuuu Valerie!.
The ever calm Carey, Mr Luce to some, (the keys man), shared a small enlightenment as we set up. No sustain pedal, alas it was keeping company back in the van at Manchester airport’s car park!. After a detailed search one was borrowed (thanks Judith!) and peace was restored to Mr Luce.
Carl showed another side to his character, his attention to detail in how things look. He was found with a smile on his face, hands wet and sweat building as he cleaned his cymbals. “Hands that do cymbals can feel as soft as your face with mild green fairly liquid!!.” Trouble was he got carried away and started cleaning the doors. Tiredness seems to express itself in different ways!!.
So the night itself!. Well the folk that came were really up for it! They were bopping, feet tapping and singing loud! Such a great atmosphere. The song ‘God believes in us’ seemed to connect with many, we pray the truth of that statement really does get soaked up in our soul. Lady Latty was on top form, with them vocal chords really giving it some beauty tonight! But its not only the sung voice that she offers, the Word that she has ‘eaten’, Kingdom values are conversed clearly and with clarity.
Fred from the Waakisa charity which works in Uganda shared with us how everyday folk, like us, can support precious lives and really turn people’s lives around. The support expressed for this work was powerful.
Well Geraldine could not come to Belfast and not sing Elijah!!, the ladies would not have let her leave! The volume was impressive, so was the dancing as people rose in spirit to proclaim this is the year of jubilee. Despite our deep love for these folk here, they did tell a blatant lie! But we’ll forgive them! Next time we’ll bring our own clock so that when Geri asks what time it is she’ll not be 45mins out!!!
