The last night…for now!

Excitement, energy, tiredness, laughs and a brewing sadness that this was the last one (for now!!!!! Sorry Ruth!!) mixed together here at Waterloo. Tho all the team were tired, the buzz of 2 birthdays lifted the energy levels. Tour manager, Mr. John Merryman (really known as Merryment!!) and Paul Reid (Reidy!) combined their ages to reach 72!. No, I am not going to give you anymore details!! Happy Birthday guys!

Church.co.uk welcomed us well and Matt could not do enough to help us, thanku!. The sound did prove to add a few challenges for John-marc our sound man, but he took it in his stride and all was sounding sweet before too long.

The venue filled, and filled and filled, a sell out. Friends and family were strong in number, along with a couple that had flown from Aberdeen to enjoy the night!. Andy Flanagan opened the night with his distinctive tunes, self penned real words that connect the world as it is into a song that conveys truth, pain, injustice and hope. Thanks Andy.

For the last night we had got 2 things that we wanted of Geraldine. Firstly them high heels were back! And man do they look fab girl! We’re glad the flight case was not too slippery tho as you took the stage!!! The 2nd thing was the pink tour t-shirt was worn. Unsurprisingly it looked great on her!.

Dave, the senior minister was interviewed by Geraldine about the hub, which is the youth project run out of the building. Yet again, a project that really is putting flesh on the words – Good news. The commitment to the youth, determination to support them was very evident. Cheering you on guys.

The evening itself was incredible. Yet another evening where we knew God was right with us, where we knew God came to save us not to condemn and where we knew we were being changed by His Holiness to go. It has to be about going out and not staying in our church buildings.

The band were flying! Sweet sweet melodies, funkeee beats and outstanding vocals. That last sentence is an understatement, these guys are “ not only talented but beautiful people” (Latty 09!!). Their passion and motivation for playing/singing comes from the place of wanting to give the gift back to the giver. You guys rock!

Mark, tall man let loose the boogie in a particularly spectacular fashion, snapping a bass string!. Hard to do I hear!!! But you would not have known, he carried out playing without a hitch. Good job tall man!

So as this is the last night, it’s also our last entry on the blog. We hope this has given you more of an insight to our last 10 days, so that you have journeyed with us. As we end this part of the tour (heeee heee maybe more to come???!!) we are properly overflowing with thanks to our God. Without his presence before, alongside and behind us we would have not gone anywhere. And we all are bowing a little lower, for Him to become greater. It’s from you and for you God, always will be.
